Kurt L. Kaufman

Principal

As principal of Blue Sky Basin Realty Partners, Kurt leverages a vast knowledge of commercial real estate to provide strategic direction and oversee the daily operations of the firm.  With more than two decades of proven experience, Kaufman has facilitated commercial real estate transactions of more than 13 million square feet, valued in excess of $2 billion, including investing through strategic joint ventures in properties acquired in the western United States.

Kurt was previously Chief Operating Officer at Brixton Capital, a prominent real estate private equity investment firm. Brixton is a vertically integrated operator of retail and multifamily properties. Additionally, he was part of the investment and executive committee that provided leadership functions across the entire company. Prior to Brixton, he served as Executive Vice President at The Abbey Company, a privately-held owner/operator of over six million square feet of commercial real estate in California.  In his position, he was responsible for the firm’s execution of real estate investment activities; acquisition, financing, and disposition.  He played a critical role in developing and implementing strategic asset plans that resulted in adding significant value. 

Kurt possesses a unique skill set across multiple disciplines (leasing, property management, asset management, acquisitions, dispositions, and financing) that is rarely found in a real estate professional.  He has held leasing and property management positions involving a multiple-building office portfolio.  He has held various roles that involved numerous property acquisitions, property and portfolio financings, as well as property dispositions.
